Adeboye visits Trinity Towers, renames RCCG Apapa family to ‘Favoured family’
Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has officially renamed the RCCG Apapa Family to “The Favoured Family” during a visit to Trinity Towers, the home of the RCCG City of David parish.
This visit marked the second time Pastor Adeboye and his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, had been at the iconic facility. It was during this special occasion that Pastor Adeboye, following divine instruction, announced the renaming of the well-known RCCG family.
Preaching from 2 Kings 2:19-24, he emphasized the need for a fresh outpouring of grace, symbolized by the introduction of salt and a new cruse. According to him, salt represents God restoring taste and seasoning, removing bitterness, warding off demonic influences, and ushering in rapid progress.
“God has instructed that this family be renamed ‘The Favoured Family.’ This marks a new chapter, a fresh direction, and a renewed purpose,” Pastor Adeboye declared.
Drawing a parallel to how Elisha used salt to heal the waters of Jericho, he assured the congregation that God would bring divine intervention to the family, leading to extraordinary favor and blessings.
“The Lord has spoken—Apapa Family needs a fresh start. The salt represents the restoration of flavor, healing, and divine favor. It is time to advance without hindrance,” he affirmed.
The congregation responded with joy and thanksgiving as Pastor Adeboye announced the new name, signifying God’s favor upon the family.
Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye also spoke during the service, expressing gratitude for the divine revelation. She encouraged members of the newly named Favoured Family to embrace this fresh direction with faith and commitment.
The ultra-modern Trinity Towers, home to the City of David parish, provided the perfect setting for this significant moment, as members celebrated the prophetic declaration and divine mandate.
