CAN Congratulates Bishop Wale Oke on PFN Re-election
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended its congratulations to Bishop Wale Oke on his re-election as the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
In a statement released on Sunday, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, described Bishop Oke’s re-election during PFN’s 18th Biennial Conference in Abuja on February 11, 2025, as a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in him by Pentecostal churches nationwide.
“Bishop Oke has consistently demonstrated humility and approachability—qualities I have personally witnessed and deeply admired over the years,” Archbishop Okoh remarked.
He highlighted Bishop Oke’s notable achievements during his tenure, which include fostering unity among Pentecostal churches, promoting spiritual growth, and engaging in national discussions on moral and ethical issues.
Archbishop Okoh acknowledged the crucial support Bishop Oke has provided to CAN, stating, “His unwavering support during my tenure as CAN President has been instrumental in fostering a spirit of collaboration that has strengthened our collective efforts.”
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about PFN’s future under Bishop Oke’s continued leadership, underscoring the importance of advancing interfaith dialogue, promoting peace, and addressing social justice, education, and humanitarian issues through the church’s initiatives.
“The Christian Association of Nigeria stands firmly with Bishop Oke, recognizing our partnership as vital in tackling national challenges affecting the Christian community,” Archbishop Okoh added. “His re-election is timely, reaffirming our shared commitment to upholding Christian values in public life.”
He further urged the Nigerian Christian community to support Bishop Oke’s vision for a more united and impactful Christian presence, saying, “Let us uphold him in our prayers for wisdom, strength, and good health as he embarks on this new term.”
The CAN leader also called for prayers for peace and prosperity in Nigeria, emphasizing that unity and faith are essential in overcoming the nation’s challenges.
Bishop Wale Oke, the Presiding Bishop of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, has served as PFN President since 2021. His leadership has been marked by efforts to amplify Pentecostal influence in national affairs and promote unity across Christian denominations.
