Christian youths demand end to killings across Nigeria
A coalition of Christian youths, under the banner of the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, has urged the Federal Government to take immediate and decisive action to curb the escalating wave of violence across the country—particularly in the northern region, where terrorist and bandit attacks have claimed countless lives and displaced thousands.
The group made their appeal during a peaceful protest held in Abuja on Wednesday, carrying placards with messages like “Stop the Killings Now!” and “Justice for the Victims.”
Addressing the gathering, the group’s leader, James Adama, expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence, stating that the continued bloodshed has left many communities in ruins and instilled fear, especially in Christian-majority areas.
“We are here to speak out against the unending violence and killings in Nigeria,” James said. “This is not just a Christian issue; it’s a human issue. The level of insecurity is deeply troubling, and we call on the government to take firm action to stop it.”
He further criticized the government’s failure to prosecute perpetrators, warning that this inaction only serves to embolden criminal elements.
“This protest is a wake-up call to the authorities,” he continued. “We demand that the government do everything within its power to bring an end to these needless and tragic killings.”
