Gospel Artiste Psalmdavid who paid a visit to our Nigerian studio on Friday 20th of March said that Covid 19 is really a trying situation for the Nations as well as the church. He went further to point out that the outbreak came at a strategic moment in history a time that will remain significant in history. The Close of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. Even though they have been a lot of predictions about the year 2020, no one saw this coming as all the nations of the world were caught off guard. He further stated that if the nations were aware of this kind of outbreak they would not be caught off guard the way they were.
Psalmdavid said that Covid 19 also came at such a strategic moment to test the Faith of the church and its members.
He said “in times like these when the church of Christ is pushed to the wall it is important to take guidance from the word of God. The book of Acts of the Apostles speaks of how things were handled in a trying time like these.
Acts chapter 4 verse 32- 34
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
At this time it was not easy to gather as a church because believing in Jesus was tantamount to dying. But the believers then understood something. That in times like these they need love. It was out of love that the apostles and the believers worked together to make sure the believers were cared for during the trial times.”
He went further to speak about the hunger and starvation that will hit people across the globe in these trying times and the need to show the love of God through Christ Jesus to our fellow man. In his own words
” As I speak now more people are dying of hunger, starvation and loneliness than the outbreak itself. It’s not strange that hunger will grow even more than the virus and claim more lives. Companies are closing down, so are businesses. In countries where people survive on a daily economy, how do they survive? How can someone who Hawks to feed her family now provide for the family when she can’t go out to sell for fear of the virus. We need to know that they will be hunger and people will need you. Your members, neighbors, family, friends even strangers will need you in these times. Don’t be afraid to share. The church should be willing to aid the hungry in these times so lives that escape the virus can also escape hunger.
Some good people have provided relief material placed in front of their homes for those who can’t provide for themselves to have what to eat. It’s now time to practice what we preach, by showing love to those who will be affected by these trying times. While we distance ourselves from others because of the outbreak, let’s not forget to open our hearts to be a blessing, a smile on somebody’s face or a meal on someone’s table. If the church can support the people affected in these trying times it will experience massive growth. Reason being that most people that may be touched by the kindness of the church may not be believers.”
He encouraged the people currently making available food and toiletries for those who do not have to continue to do so as God has appointed this time for them to shine as a light for the rest of the world to see.
He said
” The scriptures tell us that we are the light of the world. We don’t become the light by staying hidden when a situation like Covid 19 shows up. This kind of situation is supposed to bring out the light in us and make us shine brighter. Let’s not forget that Jesus as the light of the world solved many cases in his time on Earth. When he called us thus he expects us to do more than he did because he went back to the father. So to Christians all over the world I say, what a wonderful time to shine as bright as the sun. Remember the master said “let your light so shine that others may see your good works in and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Do not stay hidden, go out and be a blessing. Give to the hungry and to those who can’t afford their needs in these days of lockdown, support. In all things don’t forget whose race you run. If today were to be your last would you say you have truly lived?
Jesus is coming soon
Remain blessed
