God should take me the day I become a ‘professional’ pastor – Jerry Eze
Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International and the widely followed New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has made it clear that he does not consider himself a “professional pastor.”
In a recent conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Eze emphasized that his ministry stems from a divine calling, not personal gain or ambition. He firmly stated that if he ever turns into a professional pastor, he would rather God take his life.
“The day I become a professional pastor, let God take me,” he said. “And the moment it stops being about God and starts being about Jerry, let God shut everything down.”
Pastor Jerry, whose platform gained widespread attention during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, said he never planned or imagined his current level of influence. Instead, he credits his journey to unwavering obedience to God’s direction and faith in divine support.
“This isn’t something you map out — you don’t plan to become big or recognized worldwide,” he explained. “But since God brought me this far, I’m trusting Him for every step ahead. I just want people to experience the power of God through what I do. I understand my divine assignment, and it has completely consumed me.”
Eze also shared that the greatest motivation for his work comes from the testimonies and joy of those impacted by his ministry.
“I honestly don’t care about opinions. What keeps me going are the smiles and testimonies I see and hear — that’s all the encouragement I need,” he added.
