“God’s Mercy Saved Anthony Joshua In Fatal Accident”- Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that God’s mercy preserved the life of British-Nigerian boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, during a fatal auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The accident claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s friends, identified as Ayodele Kevin and Ghami Sina.

Speaking at the church’s monthly thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye described Joshua’s survival as a clear manifestation of divine mercy. The service, themed “Gratitude,” was held on Sunday at the RCCG International Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

According to him, reports revealed that Joshua had exchanged seats with another person shortly before the crash.

“I read in the newspapers that our boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, changed seats with someone before the accident. Those he exchanged seats with did not survive. I may not know why, but the mercy of God ensured that someone remained alive,” he said.

Pastor Adeboye emphasized that life, success, and greatness are not solely the result of human intelligence or effort but are sustained by God’s mercy.

“I am alive today because of the mercy of the Lord. It is not by my cleverness, but by the mercies of God,” he added.
