Gospel singer Big Bolaji laid to rest in Ibadan

Popular gospel artist Bolaji Olanrewaju, affectionately known as Big Bolaji, has been laid to rest at All Souls Private Cemetery in Ido, Ibadan.

The 50-year-old singer passed away on April 19 after a brief illness.

His burial rites, which began on Wednesday, culminated in a deeply emotional funeral service attended by family, friends, and notable figures from the gospel music scene who gathered to celebrate his impactful life and legacy.

The final farewell commenced at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, where a lying-in-state and funeral service were held.

In a moment of solemnity, mourners watched in silence as pallbearers brought in Big Bolaji’s casket, beautifully adorned with flowers.

Though the atmosphere was heavy with grief, it was also filled with heartfelt celebration as a tribute video highlighting his musical journey and spiritual influence played, drawing both tears and applause from those present.

Esteemed gospel artists such as Tosin Bee, Mike Abdul, Bidemi Olaoba, and Yetunde Are, along with renowned comedian Woli Agba and other well-wishers, came together to honor and remember the beloved minister.

After the service, a solemn procession made its way to All Souls Private Cemetery. There, surrounded by his wife, siblings, and loved ones, Big Bolaji was finally laid to rest—his life of faith and music leaving a lasting imprint on many.
