Kumuyi joins global leaders at Trump’s inauguration, champions Christian unity

As Washington, D.C. prepares for President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on January 20, Pastor William Kumuyi, a prominent figure in global Christianity, will be in attendance.

This announcement was made in a statement by A. Larry Ross Communications, a U.S.-based public relations firm.

Pastor Kumuyi, the founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), leads one of the world’s largest churches in Lagos, Nigeria. He is renowned for his influential teachings and extensive global evangelistic outreach.

His presence at the inauguration underscores the importance of religious freedom and Christian unity during a time of significant global spiritual shifts.

Reflecting on Trump’s leadership, Kumuyi commended the President for his dedication to Christian values, highlighting his notable efforts to advance international religious freedom and support faith-based initiatives during his first term.

During his visit, Kumuyi plans to meet with U.S. lawmakers, church leaders, and media representatives to discuss critical issues affecting the global Christian community.

He has also emphasized the rising influence of the Global South, particularly Africa, Asia, and Latin America, in shaping the future of Christianity.

Kumuyi has been a leading voice in this movement, recently rallying thousands of church leaders from 120 countries to adopt 2025 as a “Year of Higher Ground” during the DCLM Global Leadership Strategy Congress.

Additionally, Kumuyi aims to inspire American Christians to deepen their trust in God in their daily lives, encouraging them to align their faith with practical realities. In a recent op-ed, he posed the question: “Why is it that we can trust God for eternity but not for today?”

His remarks emphasize the universal nature of faith, which he believes unites believers across the world.

Kumuyi expressed hope that the inauguration and related events would promote policies that protect religious freedom and encourage the growth of Christianity globally.

From his early days as a university math lecturer to leading a ministry with 120,000 weekly worshippers in Lagos and reaching millions through worldwide evangelistic campaigns, Kumuyi’s influence extends well beyond Nigeria.

His monthly crusades have attracted over six million attendees, with more than 730,000 individuals making faith commitments through his ministry.

Kumuyi will be available for interviews in Washington, D.C., from January 17 to 27, sharing insights into the changing landscape of Christianity and the critical role of faith-based dialogue in fostering a more united world.
