Mercy Chinwo recounts how former management attempted to sabotage her ministry

Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has recalled a 2021 incident in which her former management allegedly canceled her scheduled ministration at Rev. Felix Omobude’s church, Gospel Light International Ministries.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Chinwo revealed that despite the cancellation, she was determined to honor her commitment and proceeded to the church. However, upon arriving at the airport, she was met by a medical team who claimed they had been informed she was suffering from a life-threatening illness.

“Glory be to God! This video is from October 2021. I was scheduled to minister at Rev. Felix Omobude’s church, but my former management canceled my participation. Despite this, I was determined to attend, and by God’s grace, He made a way.

“When I arrived at the airport, I was met by a medical team who said they had been told I was gravely ill and battling a terminal condition,” she wrote.

Chinwo described the experience as emotionally and mentally distressing.

“It was incredibly painful, and the mental strain was intense,” she shared. “But the Lord healed my heart and gave me peace. This is just one of many experiences. To Him alone be all the glory!”

Reports suggest that the ongoing dispute between Chinwo and Ezekiel Onyedikachi, popularly known as EeZee Tee, the owner of her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, is far from over.

According to a statement signed by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, tensions escalated in 2019 when EeZee allegedly attempted to extend her five-year contract to 12 years, which she refused.

“EeZee Tee continued to intimidate her, isolating and bullying her, as well as misleading people inviting her for events regarding her availability,” the statement partly read.
