Mercy Chinwo’s team addresses controversy with former manager

Solicitors representing gospel singer Mercy Chinwo have issued a detailed statement addressing controversies surrounding her relationship with her former manager, Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod, popularly known as Eezeetee. The statement clarified that Mercy Chinwo never filed any legal action against Eezeetee over her music catalog and has not disputed the agreed-upon 50/50 revenue split from her digital streaming platform (DSP) earnings.

According to the statement, the real issues began when Eezeetee reportedly pressured Mercy Chinwo to extend her initial five-year contract, signed in 2017, to a twelve-year agreement. When she declined, Eezeetee allegedly resorted to hostility, referencing the original contract and using intimidating language. Furthermore, the statement alleges that Eezeetee forged a new contract in 2019, altering the dates to make it appear as though a new agreement had been reached.

Despite Mercy Chinwo’s efforts to address the matter amicably, Eezeetee reportedly escalated the situation by filing legal actions against her and fellow gospel artist Judikay. This development highlights what Mercy Chinwo’s legal team describes as an unprofessional and damaging pattern of behavior from the former manager.

The statement emphasized Mercy Chinwo’s commitment to maintaining transparency and professionalism in her career while expressing disappointment in the turn of events. It also called for an end to the public speculation and urged fans to focus on Mercy Chinwo’s ministry and music as she continues her journey as an independent gospel artist.
