Moses Bliss misses concert in Tanzania over visa issues

Popular Nigerian gospel artist Moses Bliss has revealed that he was denied entry into Tanzania due to visa complications, forcing him to miss a massive worship concert reportedly attended by over 60,000 people.

In a video message and statement shared on Instagram on Saturday, Bliss — who had just concluded a performance in Kenya — explained that his team was scheduled to travel from Nairobi to Tanzania on October 2 for the free worship event.

However, upon arrival at the airport, they discovered that their visas had not been approved, despite earlier assurances from the event organizers.

“Hello my family in Tanzania. I’m here in Tanzania right now, I’m just not allowed to come in,” the “Too Faithful” crooner said in an emotional message.

“It’s really unfortunate that I couldn’t be there to worship with you all today. I heard over 60,000 of you came out. I’m sorry — I truly did my best.”

Bliss explained that his team immediately reached out to various authorities across Africa to resolve the situation.

“We contacted everyone possible — even got presidential intervention — speaking with government officials and ambassadors, but we still couldn’t get the visas,” he recounted.

According to him, they were later advised to fly to Dar es Salaam and obtain visas on arrival, but upon landing at midnight, immigration officers denied them entry.

“They told us we’d get visas on arrival, but when we landed, we were kept for about six hours. Immigration wouldn’t let us in. Apparently, there’s no longer visa on arrival for us,” he said.

The singer described the experience as deeply painful and disappointing, given the amount of time, effort, and resources poured into planning the event.

“It’s painful because we’ve prayed, prepared, and invested so much — hundreds of thousands of dollars — just to make this event free for everyone to come and worship Jesus,” he lamented.

Bliss expressed heartfelt apologies to his Tanzanian fans, appreciating their love and assuring them he would return soon.

“I did everything within my power to be with you all tonight. They didn’t let us in. We’re now waiting for the next flight back to Nairobi. Hopefully, we’ll get another chance. Thank you for your support and faith — it is well,” he said.

Despite the disappointment, the gospel star said he was touched by the overwhelming turnout and faith of the Tanzanian crowd.

“Tanzania, please hear me — you did nothing wrong. You came out in numbers, ready for God, and that moves me deeply. I owe you not just an apology, but a promise — by God’s grace, I’ll return,” he assured.
