Oyedepo announces FG approval for Canaanland airstrip
Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has announced that the Federal Government has approved the construction of an airstrip at Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland. He made this revelation during the Tehillah Night Special Edition held at Covenant University Chapel, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, on Sunday.
According to Bishop Oyedepo, this new development will allow him to travel directly from the church premises, removing the need to first fly to a commercial airport.
“I’m sure you’ll be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland,” he said. “I won’t need to take a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I’m going. Members with their planes will also have a place to land and park.”
The airstrip is expected to enhance transportation for worshippers and visitors, particularly during large church events that attract thousands of people from around the world.
In his address, Bishop Oyedepo also encouraged his congregation to discover and follow God’s plan for their lives, citing graduates of Covenant University who now fly him as examples.
“Isn’t it amazing that some of the captains who fly me are graduates of Covenant University?” he remarked. “We don’t even have an aviation department here, but they found their purpose in God and pursued it. That’s what this university is all about—helping you locate God’s plan and follow it. Young people, don’t waste your life; you don’t have a spare.”
The Tehillah Night special edition was a thanksgiving program held to honor Bishop Oyedepo, who celebrated his 70th birthday in September.
