Pastor Abioye starts new church after retirement from Winners Chapel

Pastor David Abioye, former Vice President of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), has officially launched a new church following his retirement from active leadership under Bishop David Oyedepo.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday evening, Abioye shared that his Sunday services will now be held in the morning, beginning May 4.

“Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning, 8:00am. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name,” he posted.

He encouraged followers to spread the word, adding, “Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!”

Abioye, alongside Bishop Thomas Aremu, retired in October 2024 following a policy revision within the church that set the official retirement age at 55. At the time, Aremu was 67 and Abioye was 63.

Post-retirement, Abioye launched a non-denominational ministry, initially holding evening services on Sundays. However, on April 27, he announced a shift to morning services, starting at 8:00 AM.

In a recent statement, he said, “Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name.”
