We spent eight times more on organizing Experience 2024 than last year – Adefarasin reveals

The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has highlighted the significant economic challenges posed by the depreciation of the naira, noting that the cost of organizing The Experience 19 has increased eightfold compared to the previous year.

During a press briefing ahead of the renowned gospel concert, which took place on Friday night in Lagos, Adefarasin underscored the economic hardships, stating:

“The Nigerian economy is becoming increasingly difficult; it requires unwavering faith in God to organize an event like this. What we spent last year has now multiplied eightfold due to the naira’s depreciation.”

Reflecting on the event’s legacy, he remarked:

“For 19 extraordinary years, we have gathered—under the open skies of Tafawa Balewa Square and in countless homes worldwide—for a divine encounter. The Experience has grown from its humble beginnings as a local gathering into a global phenomenon, bearing witness to God’s unchanging faithfulness.

“Millions join us annually, united in worship, with a singular purpose: to glorify the name above all names—Jesus Christ, the King of kings. The lights piercing the night—from raised hands, glowing screens, and illuminated faces—are more than just visuals. They symbolize hope, unity, and the transformative power of faith. Whether you are in Lagos or across the oceans, we are one people, with one heart, one voice, and one victorious declaration: JESUS WINS.

“What started as a vision 19 years ago has become a movement of eternal significance. The Experience is more than an event; it is a sacred moment where worship meets unity, where boundaries dissolve, and where the divine speaks.

“Though our themes may vary yearly, the foundation remains constant. Every melody sung, every prayer raised, and every hand lifted proclaims the enduring truth that it has always been—and will always be—all about Jesus.

“As you reflect on these words, consider the profound impact of this gathering—not just on those present but on a world yearning for better nations and a hopeful future.

The Experience is a testament to the resilience of faith, a movement that overcomes trials to affirm the unshakeable truth that no matter the challenges we face or the darkness surrounding us, we stand firm in the knowledge that Jesus, the Light of the World, always wins.”

The highly anticipated event featured soul-stirring performances by acclaimed international and Nigerian gospel artists, solidifying its reputation as one of the most impactful and widely celebrated annual gatherings in the world.
