Salvation Ministries Dedicated 120,000-Seater Hand Of God Cathedral In Port Harcourt

In a historic milestone for Nigeria’s religious architecture and evangelical community, Salvation Ministries has officially dedicated its new global headquarters — the Hand of God Cathedral, a magnificent 120,000-seat auditorium located at Km 10 East-West Road, Igwuruta, along the Airport Road corridor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Also referred to as the “Five Fingers of God” Cathedral, the structure showcases an extraordinary architectural design featuring a central dome with five finger-like extensions emerging from a palm-shaped base.

Initially conceived as a 40,000-seat project when construction began in 2010, the cathedral’s capacity was later expanded to 120,000, positioning it among the largest single-auditorium church buildings in the world.

The dedication ceremony was presided over by the church’s founder and General Overseer, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, who expressed profound gratitude to God, calling the project a testament to divine faith and possibility.

The event drew massive crowds, causing traffic congestion along the Airport Road as thousands of worshippers thronged the venue to witness the historic moment.

The Hand of God Cathedral will now serve as the new global headquarters of Salvation Ministries, which was founded in 1997 in Port Harcourt. The facility is expected to host the church’s major conventions, global crusades, and weekly services, replacing the former auditorium of smaller capacity.
